Canada needs to be self-sufficient when it comes to essential drug manufacturing capacity.
The NDP is proposing the creation of a Crown Corporation responsible for producing essential medications and vaccines at a reasonable cost right here in Canada, for Canadians. This will ensure a reliable supply of medicines, lower drug costs and increase the availability of innovative medicines for patients.
We think it’s time for a national drug company with the public interest in mind. The health of future generations of Canadians depends on it.
