Parliament Video: Jenny in QP: People are sleeping in the streets. End this homelessness crisis now

On February 5, 2020, I stood in Question Period to ask the following question:

"Mr. Speaker, the Liberals' national housing strategy was announced with much fanfare, yet the Liberals failed miserably. Saying that they will end chronic homelessness in 10 years is just not good enough. People are sleeping on the streets right now.

In Vancouver alone, 40% of the homeless population are Indigenous people, and yet their overall population is only 2%. So much for the Liberals' most important relationship.

We need to have a housing strategy for Indigenous peoples and by Indigenous peoples. Will the government increase the funding for housing, to end the homelessness crisis in Canada once and for all?"

Speaking in the House of Commons on Monday, NDP MP Jenny Kwan described Gaza as “the most dangerous place for children in the world” and called for special immigration measures so that Palestinian families in Canada could be reunited with their loved ones. Minister of Foreign Affairs Melanie Joly responded by saying that “too many” children and women have lost their lives, adding that 130 Canadians were able to cross the Rafah border on Sunday night.
